Drew Shofner (Senior Pastor)

Hello! Thanks for stopping by. My name is Drew and I get to be the lead pastor here. I am blessed with a beautiful wife named Marcia, a delightful 11 year-old daughter named Hannah, and with the gift of a new 15 year-old son named Joey. My life’s work is to help people live loving God by following Jesus in a profoundly relational way.

I started being a disciple in 1977. Jesus became the only thing that really made sense in the world, and the only one who really made sense of the world. I felt my fair share of the dark as a child, and as a teenager the light of Jesus proved an irresistible attraction. In Jesus, I see a beautiful hope that never ends….

Michael Craig (Worship Pastor)

Michael joined our pastoral staff in March 2010. He is married to his wife, Gloria and is the father of five awesome kids. Friends and family are a huge priority in Michael's life. He enjoys singing and songwriting and keeping busy in his recording studio. About himself, Michael says, "I’m an average guy; God is still working on me. If He can change my life he can change anyone’s."

Earl Gray (Connection Pastor)

Earl joined our staff in October of 2009 as Connection Pastor. With his years of experience, his desire to journey daily with Jesus, and his ability to relationally connect with those of all ages, Earl is a tremendous asset to the team. Donnie Hatcher (Children's Pastor)

Donnie is married to his lovely wife, Renee. Donnie and Renee both grew up in Mobile, AL. They have been married for 10 years and have one daughter, Brooklyn. Donnie felt a call to ministry as a teenager and has 14 years of full-time experience serving in the areas of Student Ministry, Children's Ministry, and as a Discipleship Pastor. Donnie completed his undergrad at the University of Mobile in Mobile, AL and earned his Masters degree at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. Donnie loves sports, Univ. of Alabama football, his iPod, tech gadgets, reading at the local coffee shop, and SWEET tea! Donnie's passion is to lead families to become radically committed to following Jesus Christ and to build a Christ-centered home environment.

Nathan Stanley (Student Pastor)

Nathan is our newest staff pastor, joining our staff in May 2010. Nathan is married to his wife, Rachel, and they have 3 children with another one scheduled to be born mid-June.

Gwen Hubbard (Singles & Sr. Adult Minister)

Gwen was born in Virginia, but has lived most of her life in Maryland. She has been a member here at Severn Run for over 25 years. She has two sons, Reggie and Erik. In her free time she likes going to the beach in the fall and to the mountains in the summer. She likes to travel and has always wanted to go to Hawaii or Australia. One of her favorite Bible verses is James 1:2-4.

Janice Green (Ministry Support Team Minister)

Janice loves helping people find their place of service within a church that is excited about serving Jesus. She leads a team of people who provide support for lay lead ministries. In addition to helping individuals use their God given gifts, the MST assists with team building, organizational structure, leadership development, publicity, and much more. Janice was born in the Bronx, New York. She retired from the government after serving ten years with the United States Air Force and fifteen years with the General Services Administration. Janice lives with her husband, Len, daughters, Stephanie and Tiffanie, and granddaughter, Callista. She also has a son, Erik, and daughter, Whitney, living in Pennsylvania and New York respectively.

The MST will do almost anything to help leaders and church attendees serve well.

Chris Dodrill (Media & Facilities)

Chris joined the U.S. Army after graduating High School in Las Vegas, NV. The next 27 years was spent growing as a musician, trouble shooting for the signal corp., sound reinforcement and recording. To his surprise, God lead him to a premier Army Band at Fort Meade, MD. Here he spent the best years of his military career traveling across the country and abroad. He has mixed concerts from the smallest gazebos to the finest venues America has to offer. After retiring from the Army in 2007, Chris joined the staff at Severn Run and leads our Media and Housekeeping teams.

Brenda Bailey (Administrative Assistant)

Brenda has been a part of Severn Run for seven years. She is married to her wonderful husband, John for 25 years and has two beautiful children, Ray and Sue. Prior to Severn Run she has served on staff at two other churches. Her favorite vacation is when she is on the beach relaxing with her family and a good book or attending a NASCAR race (Boogity, Boogity, let’s go racing boys!!). Brenda has lived in Ohio, upstate New York, Chicago, IL, and Ft. Knox, KY. Most of all, it is her desire to allow Christ to be LORD of her life, the center of who she is and all she does.

Linda Meade (Office Manager)

Linda was born in Severn, MD and has been a part of our church since she was a child. (Her parents started the church in their home.) She has served as our Church Secretary/Office Manager since July 1968. Linda is single and has a brother, George, and a sister, Nancy, who are also members of Severn. Linda enjoys reading, genealogy, and doing counted cross stitch.

Vickie Kent (Bookkeeper)

Vickie joined the staff as the part-time bookkeeper in 2009. Bringing over 20 years of experience working with not-for-profit organizations, she serves with other members of the Stewardship team in the financial record keeping of the church. Native Marylanders, Vickie and her husband David have two grown children. Together they enjoy riding motorcycles, watching movies and spending time with family and friends. Vickie has been an active member at the Church of Severn Run since 1989. Currently serving on the Contact Team, Vickie has a passion for helping guests and new members get connected to the body of Christ and assimilated into church life.
